When I started weightlifting, I was struck by the incredible dedication, grit, and passion of the people I trained with. I fell in love with the sport—and with the community. What amazed me most was how strength shows up in so many shapes, sizes, and stories.
Weightlifters are beautiful*. I wanted to create something that made them feel that way too.
That’s how SAWLTbegan: with the idea to make training shorts that felt just as serious, reliable, and supportive as the athletes who wear them. Inspired by the abrasion-resistant construction of competition singlets, I wanted that same durability in a pair of training shorts—something that could take a beating, hold its shape, and be worn again and again. If you’re a lifter, you get it.
When I set out to create something new, I knew I didn’t want to add more stuff to the world just for the sake of it. I had to stay true to my principles: no shortcuts, no guilt. I wanted to make gear that felt worth owning—something you could feel good about every time (for a long time) you pull them on.
Gear you can be proud to own. Something precious, not disposable.
Making SAWLT meant doing things right from start to finish:
✅ I sourced premium quality sustainable fabrics from a textile mill in Italy ✅ I partnered with skilled makers in London who sew each pair in a beautiful workskop, in safe and fair working conditions
From idea to final stitch, SAWLT is about care: Designed for training. Made with integrity. Built to last.
Whether you're having your best session or grinding through a tough one—these are my SAWLTS (=SAWLT shorts). I hope they become your most trusted training partner, ready whenever you are.
THANK YOU for being here
Ben, founder of SAWLT
*Weightlifters are beautiful. Even with that “ugly” lift face—the strain, the grit, the fight—it’s raw and real. In that moment, they’re battling, refusing to quit. And there’s powerful beauty in that kind of truth.
